It’s hard for me to find anything more eloquent than that. For me to find words that can truly express what I am feeling. Despite only having had very brief conversations with you, I think that there is nothing more I can say to you. I wish things were different. I wish I had listened to you when you tried to convince me of the difficulties of our relationship. I wish I had not been so stubborn. I wish things had not ended the way they did. I wish I had not lied to you and in the process, made a mockery of our entire relationship.

There was so much I should have done differently. But most of all, I truly regret not really listening to you. Not listening when you warned me how dangerous my denial was. I believed at that time that my love for you was enough to overcome everything. But when it came down to the crunch, it wasn’t. And everything became a reason, many reasons, to end the relationship.

Thank you for being so matured about it, thank you for understanding even though it must be so difficult. I would not have even been a tenth as calm as you. I have learnt so much from this relationship and from you. You are truly my best friend but I think we need to spend some time apart because it is all still so raw right now.  I believe, though, that in time, we will learn how to be friends again.

My life is better because you were in it and that’s something nobody can take away from me.
